The annual Teacher’s Day celebrations took place on the 29th of August. In accordance with the theme, “Once Upon A Classroom” ✨🧚, the school hall was transformed overnight with magical fairy lights and balloons.

The festivities began with the teachers’ Grand Entrance into the hall, complete with a red carpet to welcome them in. Thereafter, the exciting lineup of performances did not fail to disappoint. The concert consisted of enthralling performances put up by Guitar Ensemble, The Maybe Band, String Ensemble, WeYoung, and Backlit as well as Taekwondo’s highly exhilarating and MADstreet’s much anticipated showcases.

Undoubtedly, all the performers’ effort to adequately prepare and put up an enchanting performance for the teachers and the rest of the students to enjoy was well spent. Ecclesia Nguyen (24S6E), the Prime Section Leader of Guitar Ensemble, expressed how she was heartened to be able to coordinate her CCA members to perform their renditions of “How Far I’ll Go” and “Under the Sea”, despite all of them having to juggle with staying back multiple times a week for rehearsals and revision for the upcoming promotional examinations.
A heartwarming touch to the concert was the opportunity for students to give shoutouts to specific teachers in appreciation of them. Several students readily took the microphone to share about their teachers and the meaningful impact they have left on them thus far. There were so many students coming up that the emcees had to cut the session short in order to continue with the remaining performances, which was really encouraging to see.

Finally, the celebrations came to a close with the Teacher’s Magical Tribute, when students presented handwritten cards, boards, and other gifts to express their heartfelt gratitude towards their teachers. Many also took the chance to capture the beautiful memory at the photobooth with polaroids.
A big thank you to the Students’ Council for their conscientious effort in organising the event, as well as all the performers for their hard work in putting up their spectacular performances!
