On 30 January 2026, Hwa Chong’s Senior Sunset lit up the campus, bringing together Hwachongians from different classes and faculties for an eventful and joyous evening. With clusters of students gathered around the Central Plaza, the stage was set for a fruitful night of bonding and recreation.

From 6pm to 7.30pm, Senior Sunset allowed the College Section’s Year 2 students to relive and recreate their Year 1 Orientation experience on the last Friday before the new Year 1 students joined Hwa Chong. With a plethora of activities and concessions such as caricature booths, conversation cards and light refreshments prepared by SECCo, the proceedings gave Hwachongians the opportunity to sit down with their friends, enjoy dinner together, and watch the sunset, even amidst the hustle and bustle of exam preparations and extracurricular activities. Amidst laughter and lively discussions, this rare moment allowed us pause, reconnection and reflection on how far we have come since our own orientation days. It also served as a reminder of how our shared experiences and moments define us as one Hwa Chong community.

As the sky darkened, Senior Sunset drew to a close, leaving behind strengthened friendships and laughter which Hwachongians will undoubtedly carry into the future.
