Arts Fest 2026 at Hwa Chong Institution (College Section) is well underway, offering students a dynamic platform to both engage with professional artists and showcase their own creative voices.

Earlier this month, on 4th March, a highly anticipated Artist Talk and Doodle Jam was held with Tobyato. Widely regarded as a “one-man powerhouse”, Tobyato captivated students with insights into his artistic journey, sharing how he blends traditional motifs with modern street culture in his work. Drawing from his experience collaborating with global brands such as Nike, ASICS and G-Shock, he offered a candid look into the realities of being an independent artist today.

The session featured an engaging sharing followed by a lively Q&A where students had the opportunity to ask about his techniques, inspirations and career paths. The highlight of the afternoon was the Collaborative Doodle Jam where participants joined Tobyato in creating a spontaneous large-scale artwork, an experience that left many inspired by the energy of live creation.

Looking ahead, Arts Fest continues with a call for student artworks to be displayed during Art Bazaar 2026, inviting students to bring their ideas out of their sketchbooks and into the public eye. This year’s theme, “art as a vision of the future”, encourages students to explore bold and imaginative interpretations of what lies ahead. Selected artworks will be exhibited from 12 May to 21 May 2026 at the Inner Plaza, in a vibrant showcase of student creativity.

With a successful artist engagement already concluded and exciting opportunities still open, Arts Fest 2026 continues to celebrate creativity, collaboration and the artistry of Hwa Chong students.
