On 14 May, Hwa Chong came together for Hair for Hope, an annual movement in support of children battling cancer. Organised by the ProEd Council, the event saw 129 brave shavees stepping forward in solidarity, while the school community raised an incredible $47,820, far surpassing the original target of $30,000.
Hair for Hope in Hwa Chong was a really meaningful experience for many of us. People came together to raise funds and support children with cancer, and many students stepped up to shave their heads for the cause. Seeing so many students willing to do it was honestly quite inspiring because it showed how much our school community cares about helping others.

For me, the event was not just about fundraising, but also about understanding what cancer patients go through. Even though shaving our heads is only a small gesture, it was a way of showing support and raising awareness. The atmosphere during the event was very encouraging, and everyone was cheering each other on. Hair for Hope brought the school together for a good cause and reminded us that even small actions can make a difference when people come together.
Most importantly, the event reminded me that when a community comes together with care and purpose, even small actions can create a meaningful impact.
