On 17th April, High School and Junior College Year 1 students from Hwa Chong Institution went to the National Stadium to support the school team performing at the National School Games (NSG) Track and Field Finals.
Overall, the A Division Girls team won their 8th consecutive Championship, while the A Division Boys finished as first runner up.
The events on that day consisted of the 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, and 1500m for both Boys and Girls. Besides the highlights, Guzman y Gomez, a sponsor of the event, also distributed free bottles to the enthusiastic crowd.
Unflinchingly, the Hwa Chong A Division Girls team dominated the competition. Choo Jiayi, Rachel Soh, Tan Lexiao and Huang Tianai clinched champions for the 4x100m relay with a result of 48.83 seconds. The 4x400m relay team, consisting of runners Huang Tianai, Sun Lanning, Choo Jiayi and Fuyu achieved first place with a remarkable result of 4 minutes and 6.15 seconds. Individually, Cheryl Tan achieved second place in the 1500m event.

The A Division Boys carved out a leading place for themselves despite fierce competition. The 4x100m relay team consisting of Jonathan Philip Hoare, Fu Zixuan, Jervis Teo and Shai Ming Kong edged out ACSI by 3 milliseconds to achieve first place in the event. Throughout the race, ACSI and HCI were neck to neck, but thanks to an outstanding second runner performance by Jonathan Hoare, HCI was able to regain the lead and finished with stellar results. The Boys’ team placed 4th in the 4x400m relay, and also put up a good fight in the 1500m individual event.

The school team has achieved glory for the school, putting up incredible performances and ending the 2026 season on a high note.
Congratulations to all runners!
