Planet models, star-shaped balloons, blue and yellow paper stars were just some decorations that made the campus look out of this world for the Aportemis faculty event on 24 April. From 6.00 to 8.30pm, Apollo and Artemis students came together for an unforgettable evening of bonding activities. Artemis Faculty Head Yang Shurui shared in an interview how this year’s theme, “Once Upon a Star”, was inspired by the story 'The Little Prince'. More specifically, its yellow and blue motifs which matched the Apollo and Artemis faculty colours.

To begin, all student participants registered at the canteen and received a cookie and a blind box containing a pouch, an enamel pin, and a stamp card. For visiting 4 out of 6 activity booths, students could redeem an exclusive sticker sheet.

Laughter erupted throughout the central plaza, as students knocked their peers down in bubble suits in Bumper Balls, or dodged swings from a blindfolded peer in Marco Polo. Outside the Auditorium, students could traverse through a bouncy castle, practice archery, craft their own pet rocks, and receive hanna and face paint. For those who wanted a piece of memorabilia with their peers, a photobooth was set up with props to choose from.

At the right wing, students could write their aspirations on sticky notes and paste it on the Dream Board, or visit the Fortune Telling booth and hear comedic insights about their “futures”. Amid the action, food stalls at the left and right wings of the Central Plaza provided an assortment of small bites, like sliced ice cream or popcorn.

Assorted performances were conducted by student performers, councillors and faccomm members in the Central Plaza, in addition to the remarkable repertoire of events. Studio Ardent/Muxun

A variety of performances complemented the booths, such as a violin cover of Laufey’s “From the Start” by Sleepyhead Quartet, a medley of K-Pop dances by Blue Yelloway, or the C1 Apollo and Artemis councillors’ performance. The fortune telling booth also returned as a special feature segment, with three students from the crowd invited to have their fortunes read aloud.

A final mystical performance from the two Faculty Committees saw stunning choreography and magic tricks set against songs from K-pop hits “Butter” by BTS and “Loveshot” by EXO, to "Friend Like Me" from Disney’s Aladdin.

Under a sky full of stars, the event ended with a final sing-along where Apollo and Artemis students basked in one another’s company – a symbol of everlasting camaraderie.

When asked about the importance of this cross-faculty event, Shurui emphasised the importance of de-stressing amid exam stress and mugging. Additionally, he shared, "Initially, there was this question on why this event was a cross faculty event, not a single fac-event, but a cross faculty event is not just for your own faculty; it can engage the whole school."

We extend our thanks to the 25/26 Apollo and Artemis Faculty Committees, performers, and booth organisers for all their hard work in this event! May the stars align for stronger inter-faculty bonds and school spirit
